We start our interiors journey around Australia in Queensland, at Project Flower – a beautifully reimagined iconic Queenslander by DAH Architecture, with a warm and embracing interior scheme by Connors and Co.
The client wanted the interiors to embrace Mid-Century Modern design, and a modern LA Aesthetic – “I like to have objects and warmth on display — I’m definitely not a minimalist” – Jodie, the client.
It’s this mix that Kate Connors felt an instant connection with.

Unfolding the story of this home took time, layering the clients’ years of experience living throughout Asia, and carefully curating colour, texture, art, and objects for a home.
What we made – a custom sized Miles Modular
This is where Arthur G’s made-to-order service enables creative freedom in combination with practical application to come to the fore. The Miles Modular – with its generous, sunken lounge feel – was manufactured in two large pieces, creating an extended 3 x 4 metre configuration. Large format sizes are not always common, but our ability to scale any of our designs to a desired size is a service we offer to all clients. With the added benefit of being able to specify your upholstery, the result here is an eye-catching impact, with comfort to match.

Parkside Terrace, Cabarita by Frankly Design.
Across the border in Northern NSW, Frankly Design were the vision behind this home renovation in idyllic Cabarita. Avoiding a typical coastal interior scheme, the designers created a family home with a series of sophisticated spaces, layered with warmth and texture.
Timber and marble are offset by soft upholsteries and layered with art and light fixtures. It’s a space that feels calm and resolute – where a family can leave their own mark.
When working to a creative vision or colour direction, having the freedom to specify the colour, texture and composition you need on furniture is crucial. This is a service we’ve long valued at Arthur G, and something we offer all our clients. Our decades-long relationships with suppliers, enable access to the world’s best upholsteries, across our Australian-made collection.
What we made – Jay Sofa, Carmen MKII Chair
Since the design’s inception the Jay Sofa, has been confidently expressive – a vehicle for showcasing colour. Whether it’s neutral, burnt orange, or blush, Jay’s sculptural presence is amplified through the use of confident upholstery. It has a low maintenance practicality which is echoed in another design seen here, the Carmen MKII Chair. With the freedom to select any upholstery, you’re able to build a scheme around colour at Arthur G.

As we head further south into regional Victoria, Interior Designer Melissa Balzan meets us in the Yarra Valley amongst the picturesque surrounds of Coldstream. Here, her clients wanted to transform their pretty country house into a warm, sophisticated home that sat gently in the landscape.
“My brief was to create a home that felt polished and sophisticated with masculine undertones, however remaining warm and inviting. I wanted the house to feel welcoming not only for large gatherings but also for intimate evenings with a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces,” – Melissa Balzan, Interior Designer.
With clear direction for the transformation not to feel like a country home, she referred to the natural environment, utilising rich timber tones, natural stone, beautiful wallpapers, and textured fabrics layered together.
What we made – Diamond Button Ottoman
Imbued with craftsmanship – even to the naked eye – the Diamond Button Ottoman involves a process that is not only skilful but physically demanding. It’s often why these designs are hard to come by. For those who specify them, there is an underlying appreciation for craft. In this space, upholstered in leather, the ottoman adds a layer of texture, and the natural patina of quality leather will contribute to the character of this home over time.

Just like layering new and old, vintage and contemporary, Studio Monkhouse‘s Ashburton Project layers Arthur G’s core collection and our Diane Bergeron for Arthur G Collaboration in a clever and clear way. The designs from these two collections hold the same fundamentals — Australian-made craftsmanship, solid hardwood construction, 10-year structural guarantee — but are wrapped in different design identities and upholstery finishes that speak to Studio Monkhouse founder Kate Monkhouse’s vision for this project.
With a foliage textile inspired by French screens, sitting alongside alpaca velvet reminiscent of 1970s upholsteries – offset by coloured glass accents, lighting and oversized contemporary art – this space has been layered with instinct, and champions personality and our experiences in the world over anything else.
What we made – Jacquie Chair, Orb 2-piece Modular
The Jacquie Chair is Diane Bergeron’s nod to glam – a design that sits as a focal point within her namesake collaboration with Arthur G. It’s a design that moves easily between old and new spaces, and a piece that deserves more airtime. Paired with our best-selling Orb series, in a 2-piece Modular format – the pair is a small sample of the breadth our Australian made collection offers.

Presented here in a plain off-white bouclé, it’s clear to see the impact upholstery can make to a design. It’s for this reason that we champion the creative freedom we afford all our clients. This is where individuality and quality can merge, in a bespoke piece that’s truly one of a kind.
